Meet our principals:

Herman L. Ross II
CEO/CFO

Herman founded NICI in 1994 and is recognized as one of the hardest working entrepreneurs in insurance and risk management. He became a licensed agent in 1982, and over the years, has worked on both sides of the insurance fence after beginning his career at Hartford Insurance Group.

Herman was formerly the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Advisor to the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO), and had a seat on its Board. He was instrumental in the writing of the rules and regulations that apply to federally funded, street, highway, and airport programs; testifying many times on behalf of minority business owners. In addition, he was invited to speak at the Congressional Black Caucus and Transportation Brain Trust and also provides guidance to small business owners throughout the country. Herman was educated at the University of California, Santa Barbara and California State University, at Fullerton. He holds Property, Casualty, Surety, Life and Health Insurance Licenses.

Antoinette Diaz Modrok
President

In 2003, Antoinette was named President of NICI. She oversees the day-to-day national operations of NICI; manages all employees to assure efficient workflow and ensures the highest level of client service in all areas; and is responsible for marketing, employee training, interviewing and project coordination.

Antoinette was formerly vice president of NICI. Prior to joining the company in 1998, she gained valuable career experience in the financial securities industry that eventually lead her to the second largest health insurance company in Nevada. She has worked in account executive, marketing and administrative management capacities — all of which broadened the breadth of her professional experience. She was a recipient of the Commercial Sales President’s Club Award during her tenure at PacifiCare of Nevada. Antoinette earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, with Sociology as her major, from the University of California at Los Angeles. She holds a Health and Life Insurance License.

Katrina L. Simkins
Senior Vice President

Katrina joined NICI in 2011, after the merger/acquisition of Vantage Risk Management and she was immediately named Senior Vice President for NICI. The position ensures that strategies are clearly understood by all stakeholders and that the organization is achieving its strategic goals at the optimum pace. In conjunction with the President, CEO and management team, Katrina is responsible for new business development opportunities and identifying future expansions and markets for NICI to penetrate. She also ensures highly productive relationships and partnerships for the benefit of the organization including leading a national sales force.

Formerly the CEO/owner of Vantage Risk Management, Katrina has over ten years of leadership experience and training in the financial, investment, personal and commercial lines insurance industry. Her areas of expertise consist of risk management, OCIP wrap up projects, bonds, claim management and account oversight of property & casualty and risk management consulting for the public and private sectors. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management, Master of Science Certificate in Geriatric Care Management and holds licenses as a Life, Health and Annuities, Property and Casualty Consultant/Agent, Series 7 (Stockbroker), Series 31 (Commodities/Future Broker), and Series 66 (Investment Adviser).

Jeanne L. Windsor
Chief Operating Officer

Jeanne joined NICI, which operates as National Insurance Consultants Inc. dba National Insurance Services in the state of Oregon, in 2009. She currently manages all operations for NICI. As one of the original founding members of NICI’s Board of Directors, she was instrumental helping to establish the company.

As an entrepreneur and business developer, Jeanne has created many new jobs in her community. She currently sits on many non-profit boards using her talents to strengthen community ties. Her background includes vice presidency of a national software developer, ownership in a graphic printing and magazine publishing company, food services contractor and is a management advisory consultant. She attended Florida State University and the University of Las Vegas. Over the years she has concentrated her studies in a wide range of business subjects. She holds a Property and Casualty and a Life and Health license in the State of Oregon.
